WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

In 2006 I had the honor of being part of CCSJ's Civil Rights Conference. It was everything that I imagined it to be and more … it increased my knowledge of my history and ways that I can make a change. I was motivated to go back to my community and influence other youth on how to become community builders for a more just society.

NEIGHBORHOOD INITIATIVE

The vision of the Charlotte Coalition for Social Justice is of an inclusive community where there is access, equity and justice for people.  To this end we are providing support to build a diverse network of residents from low-income neighborhoods seeking to address issues of race relations and social justice in and for their communities.  The neighborhood initiative brings people together across lines of race and culture and builds understanding and respect through regular monthly dialogues and activities. It provides leadership training to address issues of interracial trust and cooperation in the neighborhoods and to build a common agenda for social change.
